Because of the uncertainty of the present situation with social distancing and other safety measures, we have decided to proceed with our Religious Education program here at Good Shepherd Parish as an online remote learning instruction with all class lessons emailed to students for completion and emailed back to the teacher. For this reason, each child must have access to a computer, laptop, or notebook with the internet. Children will usually have two weeks to complete an assignment.
We expect that this will be the routine at least until January, at which time we may add meetings or classes at the regular Saturday times if that can be done safely. Safety will always be a priority.
We recently installed the app titled “Remind” to help us with online learning. Rest assured that we will explain the procedure in more detail as we get closer to Labor Day so that the program runs smoothly. Therefore, we need to have an email address and cell phone number so you receive the pertinent information.
New registration forms are now available on this website. A copy of your child’s baptism certificate must accompany all new registrations, even if your child was baptized at Good Shepherd. If your child attended our program in the past, you do not need to supply another copy, but you do need to re-register.
Because the parameters of our program have changed so much, we have reduced our tuition fees for this year to the cost of books, which is $40 per child.
If you would like to register your child for the 2020-2021 school year, please fill out the proper registration form and send it along with a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate and the tuition fee to our Parish Office, or put it in the mail slot on our front door or the lockbox next to the door.
